He earned a business degree from Ottawa University and also studied at the University of Kansas and MidAmerica Nazarene University.Getting to know meDoug and his wife, Angie, have lived in the Lawrence community for more than 30 years. They have three adult children. Their oldest works in physical therapy and is the mother of Doug and Angie’s two grandsons, who are Doug’s buddies. Their son is a Kansas Highway Patrolman and their youngest daughter does missionary work in the Philippines. Family is very important to Doug as is mentoring youth—in fact, he coaches high school football.Van SchafferHow I can help youVan brings a unique perspective to helping business owners, individuals and their families achieve their financial goals. Van helps set up various strategies for retirement, savings, distribution and legacy.What makes me knowledgeableVan has been working in financial services since 1994. He is continually working to improve his knowledge and studying new planning approaches that can benefit his clients. Van earned his degree from the University of Kansas, where he ran track and field.Getting to know meVan remains active in the track and field community, working as a meet official for high schools and colleges. He and his family also help special needs children live dignified and fulfilled lives through speech therapy and group action planning programs.Malcom OngHow I can help youIn addition to ensuring the office runs smoothly, Malcom partners with his clients to enable them to retire comfortably and enjoy the fruits of their life’s work.What makes me knowledgeableMalcom joined Fifteen:22 in 2006. Prior to this, he ran a technology consulting firm where he developed an aptitude for understanding his clients’ needs and finding appropriate solutions. Malcom has a computer science degree from the University of Kansas and has held multiple roles in the financial industry.Getting to know meOutside of the office, Malcom enjoys coaching youth sports, camping and fishing with his wife and three sons. Malcom is passionate about his faith and devotes much of his time to serving in the church. He also provides guidance and counseling for people struggling with debt.Brent HoffmanHow I can help youBrent specializes in helping hard-working families plan for and enjoy their retirements through careful goal-setting and prudent investment plans.What makes me knowledgeableBrent joined Fifteen:22 in 2010. Prior to that, Brent worked as an analyst and adviser at the largest commodity firm in the world, MF Global in Chicago, Illinois. Brent got his start in financial markets by working in the oil and natural gas business and in 2003, opened a commodity brokerage firm named Grace Capital, Inc. He operated Grace Capital for two years.Getting to know meBrent and his wife are fitness advocates and foster parents to two children. He is a Deacon at Morning Star Church and he volunteers time working in his local community to help people who are experiencing homelessness and other forms of injustice.Doug StephensHow I can help youDoug helps clients develop practical and personalized plans to reach and maintain their retirement and legacy goals. He has business and biology degrees from the University of Kansas, and brings an extensive network of resources and experience to his clients.Getting to know meDoug is committed to serving others. He also enjoys spending time outdoors watching wildlife, fishing, camping and hiking.
